I received the package yesterday and I've examined the Criterion 8X50mm finder telescope. Very nice condition, and it works great-I was able to take it out late last night for a test on the Moon and some stars, Thanks again for selling me the finder and the free Binoculars booklet and Meade software with star charts. These will be useful for me. That was very thoughtful of you.

Hi Fred - The B&L 4000 OTA was delivered late this afternoon. Because of your excellent packing job, it arrived safe and sound! I'm very pleased with the OTA and have mounted it in the fork mount and also have put on the tripod block and the finder. Everything works as it should. I even went outside and took a look at the moon. In the sucker holes, between the clouds, the view was excellent. Once again, thank you for your service and for a nice piece of equipment. Oh, also thanks for the little extra goodies - the cap and the focus ring.

Just wanted to let you know that the finder scope arrived in good shape. With a little spit and polish and it'll be as good as new and ready to be placed on "your" 1984 C-11. Thanks for packing it so carefully and it really turned out to be "just what I wanted"! I also appreciate the binoc book -- it's already ansewered a couple of questions regarding my next project. (I bought a matching set of 4" copier lenses and I'm going to try to turn them into binoculars -- this will help.) It's been nice touching bases with you again after such a long time--I hope it won't be the last--and I'll keep checking from time to time to see if we can strike a deal. In the meantime, take good care of yourself and especially those eyes...

We of the Western Connecticut Chapter, Society for Amateur Scientists cannot thank you enough for your generous loan of a ten inch Meade LX200 telescope for our use at the 1998 New Milford Village Fair Days. Your telescope was the centerpiece of our exhibit and we used it as a model of the Community Observatory we a proposing to install at the New Milford High School.
Your telescope attracted more people to our exhibit that we could count. It was specially pleasing to us to see how many young people were so very interested in it. We, among other things, showed that the sun in stunning red light of hydrogen alpha. Our Village Fair Days experience confirmed to us that the public is interested in astronomy and science.
We also thank you for all your other help and advice. Our exhibit just would not have worked without all you did for us. You have helped us in our mission for furthering the science literacy of our community. Just a quick note. The C11 OTA arrived in Florida last week as promised. I had a chance to use it both Saturday and Sunday evenings. It's mounted on a GM-8 and it's quite stable. I had reasonable seeing (7-8) and I must say I am not disappointed in the optical quality; almost no spherical aberration and the collimation adjustment is positive and smooth.
Just thought I would let you know of my pleasure and I will certainly keep you in mind in the future.
Just want to say thanks for the response to my order. It arrived yesterday without a problem. Unfortunately, here in Italy the weather is bad so I cant use it yet.

Had to let you know how much I appreciate your excellent service. I ordered several items Wednesday 8/30/2000 (Meade 7288 7283 7067) by phone, and to my surprise, a shipment arrived today, Friday, just about two days to the hour! I read your note on the receipt concerning the missing filter 1A ("to follow ASAP"), two out of three isn't bad. Now if we could just get a clear night...

When I recently called to get more information regarding more filter and eyepiece accessories, the experience was repeated.

Thank you very much for your honest and down to earth pricing. I have long looked for the company with the lowest prices until I found Astroptx. why do your competitors bother to advertise? I know what company I will be buying my telescope from within the next few months.
I am writing to say thank you to the person I spoke with on the phone yesterday who didn't just take the order but really helped to clarify many things for me. I ended up ordering the 10" LX200 with a set of accessories I'm really excited about and which I believe will keep me happy with visual observing for quite some time. And when I begin to get into astrophotography, I intend to contact you first.
I thought you should know we got off around 3:30 p.m Thursday. UPS was at my door in Southern N.H with the packages at 11:00 the next morning! I was absolutely stunned! Unfortunately, no one was there to receive the packages since we weren't expecting them until Monday. However, I made arrangements to pick up the packages at the local UPS office on Monday, which is just fine.
Again, thank you for spending the time with me on the phone and for shipping the telescope and accessories so promptly! I really appreciate it.

We have recently subscribed to your magazine, and there is something we feel you should know.
We purchased a telescope from one of your advertisers, but only after discovering a disturbing fact. We called every ad that dealt with Meade or Celestron telescopes, and found that only one of these companies runs honest ads. The company I am referring to is Wholesale Optics in Danbury, Connecticut. This company stood by their advertised price and had the equipment in stock. We received our telescope within 5 days of ordering.
All of the other companies we called quoted prices at least $500 higher than their advertised price. The reason, the said, as that they had reordered their stock, and Meade had raised their prices. Yet, even though they had "reordered their stock," we would have to wait 60 days for our order because they would have to order it from Meade. This statement made no sense!
We were very disturbed by our findings, and had almost given up. Then we called Wholesale Optics in Danbury, CT, and spoke with Fred. We were very pleased to find that they had the product we wanted in stock and at the advertised price!
Thank you for running their ad! We enjoy your magazine very much, and are pleased with our subscription. We just felt you should know what we discovered.
